Gustavo Cardona Expands COMANCO’s Surveying Capabilities
Assistant Project Manager Gustavo Cardona has successfully earned his FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification after completing professional drone flight training with Fowado Unmanned Systems. This accomplishment expands COMANCO’s in-house aerial surveying capabilities while demonstrating Gustavo Cardona’s commitment to professional development and technical excellence.
The specialized training prepared Gustavo Cardona to safely operate unmanned aircraft systems while meeting all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations for commercial drone operations.
Professional Drone Flight Training
During the two-day training program, Gustavo Cardona received classroom instruction and practical flight experience covering:
- FAA Part 107 regulations
- Safe drone flight operations
- Airspace rules and restrictions
- Flight planning and safety procedures
- Hands-on flight instruction
- Commercial drone applications
After successfully completing Fowado’s Commercial Drones 101 program, Gustavo passed the FAA Airman Knowledge Exam, officially becoming a certified commercial drone pilot.

Depending on project size, drone surveys may capture between 500,000 and 10 million images, allowing elevation data to be verified within 2 to 3 centimeters of traditional surveying methods.
