COMANCO recently completed the liner portion of the “ClosureTurf” system.
This system consisted of installing over 2 Million SF of 50mil LLDPE Super Gripnet, which makes up the first layer of the “ClosureTurf” system.
The crew led by James Kile, Pedro Pedraza, Carlos Garcia, & Pablo Medina continue to make progress on the rest of the ClosureTurf system by installing to date:
- Over 1.7 million SF of ClosureTurf
- 660,000 SF of the sand infill
- 20,000 SF of HydroBinder
The crew has managed to do this with zero injuries. The “ClosureTurf” system was specifically designed to address the environmental and performance failures of traditional vegetated landfill closures. EPA chose the system because of its proven ability to handle large waste settlements, lower infiltration rates, and significantly lower maintenance costs for the taxpayer.
