Earlier this week COMANCO began a 2-acre partial landfill closure at the Desoto County Landfill facility in Arcadia, FL.
Superintendent Matt Carroll has been leading the earthwork team as they began stripping and grading the intermediate cover layer. Once the intermediate layer is on grade, the team will start prepping for six vertical gas wells that will be drilled next week.
Each well location will have 4-inch perforated collection pipe backfilled with an approved aggregate. Between the vertical wells, there will be 600 linear feet of horizontal collection pipe installed with a non-woven textile and aggregate burrito wrap.
COMANCO will be sure to follow the proper SAFETY procedures to ensure this phase is complete without any incidents.
