COMANCO has completed liner repairs in a pond at a phosphate mine in Eastern Idaho. A leak location service was hired to inspect the ponds for any damages. COMANCO was tasked to follow behind the crew and repair any blemishes to the existing liner system.
The crew found multiple areas of damage to the 60mil smooth HDPE geomembrane which COMANCO then patched. While on site, the crew also installed an elevation gauge along the slope of the pond. The gauge allows the site to get a quick and accurate estimate of the contents of the pond. It also allows the mine to measure the remaining capacity left in the pond. The gauge was constructed of 60mil white smooth HDPE liner welded to the existing liner. The gauge and all patches were vacuum box tested for leaks and the leak location contractor double checked to ensure the quality of the work.
Superintendent Carlos Garcia and Master Seamer/Foreman David Barajas completed the project with COMANCO’s core values of Safety, Quality, and Service. Great job guys!
