The COMANCO team has been hard at work this year on a pond closure project in southern Louisiana. The work consists of the lining of 6 ponds with 40 mil smooth HDPE geomembrane totaling over 1,500,000 SF, and the existing liner in all of the ponds is being taken out in those areas. So far the crew has lined the first pond and almost completed the replacement of the liner in the second pond. The crew has installed nearly 700,000 SF of liner so far, and they have been working alongside James Construction to fusion weld 1,000 LF of HDPE pipe. The team is being led by Steve Whittum, Site Superintendent; Pablo Medina, Liner Foreman; Scotty Martone, Project Manager; and Nick Bridges, Project Engineer.
