Last week COMANCO Environmental Corp. was fortunate to team up with GSE & SOLMAX Innovation Team for in-depth training on GSE’s electrically conductive backed geomembranes. Over 60 COMANCO liner technicians completed three days of proper hands-on welding procedures that ensure effective conductive liner installations.
Each technician has an endorsed competency as determined by the geomembrane manufacturer, and is authorized to perform Extrusion Gun and Isolation Wedge welding of conductive backed geomembrane. Also, all technicians received training and have an applied understanding of safety practices when working with or around non-destructive leak location services available with conductive liner systems. This includes non-destructive testing of geomembrane seams using the Spark Test per ASTM D6365-99 and electrical methods for locating leaks in geomembranes covered with water or earthen materials per ASTM D7007-16.
Owners can rest assured that the investment into conductive back liner systems will work as advertised many years after installation, thanks to the teamwork of COMANCO and GSE & SOLMAX.
