A COMANCO crew led by Superintendent Jose Hernandez has started work in eastern Texas. This project will have the crew deploying ~100,000 SF of double-sided textured 60-mil high density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane and double sided 6oz./6oz. 200-mil geocomposite on the slopes. They will also deploy ~680,000 SF of smooth 60-mil HDPE geomembrane and single sided 6oz. 200-mil geocomposite on the floor of the landfill. The project will include the installation of four pipe boots and ~1,400 linear feet of double-sided 60-mil textured HDPE rain flap and an ~2,000 SF installation of an additional layer of smooth 60-mil HDPE geomembrane and geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) in the sump area as well. The crew has started the project safely with no incidents and is scheduled to finish the project in a few weeks.
