COMANCO Environmental continues to make progress on the gyp stack project on the east coast. Liner installation now totals over 3.3 million square feet. Approximately 2.1 million SF is 60-mil textured HDPE liner with the remaining 1.2 million SF being 60-mil smooth HDPE liner. Underneath the liner, approximately 240,000 SF of geocomposite has been installed. This geocomposite serves as a vent system for the liner.
In addition to the liner, COMANCO continues to make progress on drain and pipe installation. All eight of the 48” sumps on top of the stack have now been installed, as well as over 10,000 LF of drains. Recently, COMANCO also installed 370 LF of 36” culverts.
Conditions have turned cold and windy, but Superintendent Tony Sanchez, Project Engineer Daniel Ward and the 16 man crew continue to work safely and efficiently.
