COMANCO Environmental remains hard at work on the gyp stack project on the east coast. Superintendent Tony Sanchez and the crew have now installed over 610,000 SF of 60-mil smooth HDPE liner and 930,000 SF of 60-mil textured HDPE liner. The total area of liner installation is now 1.54 million SF, most of which has been covered with compacted gypsum. In addition, 110,000 SF of geocomposite vent strip has been installed underneath the liner. The crew recently began installation of drains around the perimeter of the stack as well. To date, about 2700 LF of 6″ HDPE slotted pipe has been installed. Tony Sanchez and Project Engineer Daniel Ward continue to lead the efforts on-site. The crew is doing a great job of working together and staying safe.
