LeRoy Smith and his 12 man crew are continuing their Mid West liner tour and have landed in southwestern Michigan this week. The crew is tasked with capping an additional seven (7) acre portion of an existing capped landfill. The two layer liner system includes installing 295,395 SF of geosynthetic clay liner and 40-mil LLDPE geomembrane with about 2,400 LF of extrusion weld tie-in. The team will also be installing seven (7) 8 inch and seven (7) 6 inch pipe boot penetrations around existing gas collection wells. Double sided geocomposite and 6 oz. geotextile strips will be installed for additional drainage conveyance under future down chute locations which will be built on top of the completed liner system.
