Last week, Caterpillar and Ring Power hosted a Next Generation CAT Excavators Demo for the Tampa market in Riverview, FL. Caterpillar and Ring Power employees demonstrated the CAT Connect Technology, CAT Grade Assist, CAT Payload and New Smart Mode Technology. All these features combined, adjust engine and hydraulic power for the highest fuel efficiency, new cab visibility, and safety features of E-Fence Technology which stops excavator motion using boundaries set-up in the machine monitor for the entire working area. COMANCO President Mark Topp attended the Demonstration and was impressed by the safety features built into the Next Generation CAT Excavators.
Mr. Topp stated, “Safety is so important to what we do, and I was impressed with how they have incorporated the 2D Fence Technology. If you are working alongside the road, you can limit the machine from ever swinging out into traffic or operating under a power line. The fence can be set up to never raise the boom or stick of the excavator beyond a certain height. Very impressive.”
