Since joining COMANCO on August 29, 2011, Tomas Aguilar has consistently demonstrated the professionalism, craftsmanship, and reliability that define COMANCO’s culture of quality and safety.
As Tomas Aguilar begins retirement, COMANCO proudly reflects on the remarkable accomplishments and lasting impact he made throughout his career in the geosynthetics and environmental construction industry.
A Career Built on Precision and Commitment
Throughout his career, Tomas Aguilar became known for exceptional welding quality and consistency in the field. One of his most impressive achievements includes welding 356,471 linear feet on the wedge, totaling more than 67 miles of welded geomembrane seams.
That level of production represents years of experience, discipline, and attention to detail on projects requiring exact installation standards and dependable quality control procedures.
In addition to wedge welding, Tomas also completed nearly 10,000 linear feet of extrusion welding during his career. Every weld contributed to the successful completion of critical containment and environmental protection systems across numerous projects.
Exceptional Quality Performance
COMANCO celebrates Tomas Aguilar not only for production numbers, but also for his remarkable quality performance throughout his career.
Over the years, Tomas completed 1,013 destructive tests (DTs) with only seven failures, resulting in an impressive failure rate of just 0.69 percent. Even more remarkable, Tomas did not record a single DT failure after 2022, demonstrating his continued commitment to excellence through the final years of his career.
This level of quality reflects the experience and professionalism that helped Tomas become a respected member of COMANCO field operations.
A Lasting Impact on COMANCO Projects
During his time with COMANCO, Tomas Aguilar contributed to 41 major projects totaling more than 22 million square feet of installed material. That equals over 511 acres of environmental containment systems designed to protect communities and the environment.
His work helped support the successful construction of containment facilities, landfill systems, and environmental protection projects across multiple locations.
Tomas’ contributions extended far beyond production numbers. His work ethic, reliability, and example in the field helped strengthen project teams and support younger employees learning the trade.
