COMANCO Develops Custom Recreational Pond for Exclusive Estate
COMANCO is nearing completion of an exciting recreational pond project, demonstrating our expertise in geosynthetics, earthwork, and HDPE pipe installation. While this is not a typical project for COMANCO, it showcases the team’s versatility and precision in executing complex projects of all kinds. This personal pond is designed to be both a functional water feature and a stunning recreational space, combining engineering excellence with natural beauty.
Significant Progress Toward Completion
With 80 percent of the pond lining installed, the project is steadily moving forward. The team has successfully installed the underdrain system, which is critical in managing water flow and preventing saturation issues. HDPE pipe installation is also progressing, with crews currently working from the northwest area of the pond toward the southeast. Additionally, fish feed lines have been installed, supporting the development of a sustainable aquatic ecosystem. Work is also underway on the pond’s recirculation system, which will enhance water quality and ensure consistent movement throughout the pond.
High-Quality Materials and Precise Engineering
To construct this unique pond, COMANCO is utilizing durable and specialized materials designed for long-term performance. The project includes 640 linear feet of Geovent for drainage and 2,000 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE underdrain pipe. To enhance soil stabilization, 2,000 square feet of Geoweb is being used, along with 43,160 square feet of 16-ounce non-woven geotextile. The pond itself is lined with 49,122 square feet of 60-mil HDPE liner, ensuring a strong and waterproof foundation. Additionally, 543 linear feet of HDPE pipe and 450 linear feet of batten bar are being installed to manage water flow and secure critical components of the system.
