Since joining COMANCO in August 2023 as a Project Engineer in the Elko Office, Jose Martinez has quickly become an important part of the team through his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to helping others succeed.
Under the mentorship of David Ramirez and with support from Field Manager James Kile, Jose continues demonstrating what it means to live the COMANCO culture through leadership, service, and continuous improvement.
Jose Martinez Supports Teamwork and Growth
Jose Martinez plays a major role in supporting field crews and office operations throughout the western region. From coordinating jobsite logistics to assisting with quality control and project preparation, Jose consistently works to ensure crews have the tools, information, and support they need to operate safely and efficiently.
His willingness to step into multiple responsibilities has helped improve communication and streamline operations across projects.
Jose Martinez Goes Above and Beyond
One of the qualities that makes Jose Martinez stand out is his commitment to creating a supportive environment for employees and customers alike. Jose regularly organizes cookouts, helps coordinate crew meetings, and ensures visiting team members feel welcomed at the Elko Office.
He also assists with travel coordination, transportation logistics, and preparing job books that include SDS information, MSHA documentation, and project details needed for safe operations.
By taking a hands-on approach, Jose helps bridge communication between field crews and management while maintaining COMANCO’s high standards for safety and organization.
Leadership Through Action
Jose Martinez continues setting an example for fellow employees by encouraging growth and development throughout the workforce. He actively motivates crew members to pursue new opportunities, including becoming equipment operators, DOT-certified drivers, and field leaders.
Jose recently earned his own DOT certification, reinforcing his belief that advancement comes through dedication, training, and a willingness to learn. His leadership style focuses on helping others succeed while supporting the long-term success of the entire team.
Jose Martinez Values Family and Community
Outside of work, Jose Martinez enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their dogs. Family remains an important part of his life, and weekends are often spent with relatives enjoying meals, football, boating, and outdoor activities together.
His strong family values and positive attitude carry over into the workplace, where he continues building meaningful relationships with coworkers and helping strengthen team morale.
