COMANCO attends the 2024 FPPC BBQ to support Florida’s phosphate industry. The Florida Phosphate Political Committee hosts an annual BBQ and Social to support the Phosphate industry in Florida. This highly anticipated industry event brought together over 1,300 attendees, representing over 130 phosphate suppliers and vendor businesses.
The event kicked off with a social hour, providing a valuable platform for COMANCO to connect with fellow industry professionals, build relationships, and foster collaboration. This year’s program featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Congressman Scott Franklin, Congresswoman Laurel Lee, State Senator Jay Collins, State Representative Jennifer Canady, and Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. These key influencers addressed critical issues impacting the Florida phosphate industry, highlighting its significance to our local and national economies.
Following the presentations from elected officials, the evening welcomed industry heavyweights Karen Swager, Executive Vice President of Operations at Mosaic, and Mike Dirham, Vice President of Phosphate Operations at Nutrien, as keynote speakers. Their expertise provided valuable insights into the phosphate industry’s current state and future direction.
