Sloped Liner Installation Reaches Major Milestone
COMANCO continues making outstanding progress on its Sloped Liner Installation project in Central Florida. The crew has successfully installed more than 1,785,008 square feet of geosynthetic liner across steep slopes, helping protect the site from rainfall, erosion, and long-term environmental exposure.
This large-scale Sloped Liner Installation showcases COMANCO’s expertise in geosynthetic construction and complex environmental containment projects.
Coordinating a Complex Construction Project
Covering more than 41 acres, the project requires close coordination between multiple contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
According to Project Manager Marcelo Santos, the work includes several interdependent activities, including:
- Relocating liner materials
- Preparing and maintaining subgrade
- Exposing and cleaning existing liner tie-ins
- Managing surface water during installation
- Installing and securing geocomposite materials
Successful coordination allows every phase of the project to move forward safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Protecting the Site with Engineered Containment
Once complete, the Sloped Liner Installation will provide a durable containment system designed to minimize rainfall infiltration and protect surrounding environmental resources.
The finished project will include:
- 41 acres of 60-mil HDPE geomembrane
- Maintained and prepared subgrade
- 22 acres of 250-mil HDPE geocomposite
These engineered systems help improve long-term site performance while supporting environmental compliance and operational efficiency.
