Forklift Training Strengthens Workplace Safety
Last week, our second group of COMANCO employees successfully completed Forklift Training through an OSHA-compliant Extended Boom Forklift course. This Forklift Training program was designed to help both new and experienced operators improve their equipment knowledge while reinforcing safe operating practices in the workplace.
OSHA-Compliant Equipment Training
This course adheres to the standards outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 and is specifically designed for operators who work with extended boom forklifts and similar equipment.
OSHA requires a training program based on the general principles of safe truck operations, the types of equipment used in the workplace, the hazards created by the use of that equipment, and the safety requirements established by OSHA standards.
Hands-On Forklift Training Experience
Certified professional trainer Dan Howard from Safety Solutions & Supply taught the fundamentals of forklift safety and operation while ensuring participants demonstrated competency with the equipment.
The training included equipment inspections, safe operating procedures, hazard recognition, load handling, workplace awareness, and best practices for preventing accidents. Employees gained valuable hands-on experience that will help them operate equipment more safely and efficiently in the field.
