Last week, COMANCO Liner Equipment Technician Justin Grenke and Equipment Technician Sam Smith attended ‘Sewing Training.’ This specialized training was provided by City Sewing Machine Company located in metropolis Dallas, Texas. They are considered a leader among commercial/industrial sewing machine companies in North America.
During the two-day training, Justin and Sam were trained on the use of New Long and Union Special sewing machines which COMANCO uses exclusively. Once the training was complete, Justin and Sam both stated they learned a ton of new information and a whole set of new skills which they will implement once they return back to the shop.
This type of training is provided to ensure that COMANCO has several fleet employees trained with the capabilities to work on different types of equipment . COMANCO Fleet prides themselves on cross-training their employees, so they are not responsible for holding up a project. Too often companies rely on one employee to perform a job function, and if this employee is out of the office, then production stops. Having this flexibility allows Fleet employees to request time off without the worry of equipment not getting repaired in their absence.
