COMANCO has completed the installation of a new cell construction at a landfill located near San Mateo, California. The crew installed over 115,000 square feet of 80-mil textured HDPE geomembrane, 103,000 square feet of 60-mil textured HDPE geomembrane, 103,000 square feet of geosynthetic clay liner (GCL), and 34,000 square feet of non-woven geotextile. The scope also included welding over 1,300 linear feet of tie-in to an existing cell, 1,000 LF of extrusion welding the primary and secondary liners together inside of the anchor trench, and 1,000 LF of transition welding the floor liner to the slope liner.
The crew was led by Superintendent Martin Calderon, Project Manager Dan Ward, and Project Engineer Nick Rauh. The team did a great job performing the work ahead of schedule despite heavy fog, wind and rain. Please enjoy some photos of the project under construction.
