Yesterday, COMANCO Environmental broke ground on a 6-acre cell expansion to a Construction & Debris Landfill in St. Augustine, Florida. The crew, led by Supervisor Nathan Wilfong, started dewatering, stripping the existing site and hauling off excess unsuitable materials from the cell. Over 15,000 CY of clean soil fill material will then be imported for the cell’s base layer. This will be placed in compacted lifts to a design elevation. Lastly, a stormwater perimeter ditch will be cut around the perimeter of the cell with an Access Road built for the dump trucks to enter the cell.
