COMANCO has recently been working on a landfill near central Florida. The project consists of placing non-woven textile and composite drainage net on sections of the slope, supplying and installing a gas collection piping system, hauling and placing two feet of cover soil and sodding over a two acre exposed slope.
Also included in the work is hauling and placing one foot of cover soil over the top of the landfill which equates to an additional 11,000 CY. The entire top will receive hydro seeding as well as an additional acre on the Northeast slope. The project started in February and is expected to be completed this month. The crew has done a great job working safely around traffic, and during many mornings with heavy, patchy fog.
The crew would temporarily pause operations at times of low visibility due to safety concerns, exercising their right to stop work. The team has been led by foremen Kenny Frazier and Gerardo Ruiz, and project engineer Mohammad Lutfiyya. Great job, and enjoy some progress photos!
