Emerging Managers Strengthen Leadership Skills at FMI Institute
Last week, 20 COMANCO employees attended FMI’s Emerging Managers Institute at Streamsong Resort in Bowling Green, Florida. The three-day program immersed participants in leadership development and provided valuable tools designed to help Emerging Managers grow into effective future leaders.
The Emerging Managers Institute focused on key leadership topics such as managing different personality types, active listening, effective communication, time management, and team development.
Emerging Managers Participate in Hands-On Learning
Unlike traditional classroom instruction, the Emerging Managers program incorporated interactive exercises and team-building challenges throughout the event. Participants worked together through a variety of activities designed to encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership under pressure.
Water balloons, LEGO bricks, spaghetti noodles, and public speaking exercises all played a role in helping Emerging Managers step outside their comfort zones. These activities challenged attendees to adapt, communicate effectively, and make decisions in dynamic situations similar to those encountered in the workplace.
Building Future Leaders at COMANCO
The Emerging Managers Institute is designed to support the growth and development of employees who demonstrate leadership potential. By investing in professional development opportunities, COMANCO continues building a strong leadership pipeline for the future.
Training programs like this help employees strengthen management skills, improve communication, and gain confidence in leading teams. The knowledge gained through the Emerging Managers program will continue benefiting participants throughout their careers.
Team Building Beyond the Classroom
The learning experience extended beyond the classroom through post-training activities that encouraged relationship building and teamwork. Emerging Managers had the opportunity to test their bass fishing and clay shooting skills while continuing to build connections with coworkers in a relaxed setting.
These shared experiences help strengthen communication and teamwork, creating stronger relationships that carry over into day-to-day operations and project execution.
Investing in Employee Growth
A special thank you goes to Ed Palpant and Michelle Thompson of FMI for delivering valuable instruction and helping guide this group of Emerging Managers through the program.
Professional development training remains one of the many ways COMANCO promotes growth in the workplace. By investing in Emerging Managers and future leaders, COMANCO continues strengthening its culture while preparing employees for long-term success.
