COMANCO has added a new John Deere 850K Interim Tier 4 Dozer to our ever growing fleet department. The COMANCO Fleet Department has been working diligently to get the new dozer ready for our jobsites. NORTRAX met with the COMANCO Fleet Department to demonstrate the Interim Tier 4 programs.
I am sure you are wondering what does Interim Tier 4 mean, a short version of the meaning is: a set of emissions requirements established by the EPA to reduce emissions of particulate matter, oxides of nitrogen and air toxics from new, non-road diesel engines. As part of this clean air initiative, the EPA proposed New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) to define the acceptable levels of emissions in large stationary generator sets.
There is some sophisticated computer technology in the John Deere 850K. COMANCO Fleet Department will be sending out the ‘Interim Tier 4 Quick Reference Guide’ for the machine to all COMANCO Project Managers and Superintendents. There is also one Quick Reference Guide located on the machine.
