COMANCO Environmental recently reached a major milestone on the gypsum stack project on the east coast. After months of hard work, the liner installation is now complete on the entire 92 acre stack. The final installation quantity for the 60-mil smooth HDPE liner was 1.28 million square feet, and 2.63 million square feet for the 60-mil textured HDPE liner, giving a total installation of just under four million square feet. In addition, nearly 300,000 SF of geocomposite vent strip was installed underneath the liner.
In the next couple of weeks, COMANCO will be finishing up the drain installation on the east half of the stack. Once completed, the remaining work for this project consists of installing 8,000 LF of drain and 500,000 SF of textured liner in the ditch around the perimeter of the gypsum stack. Tony Sanchez and the 16 man crew continue to work efficiently, while remaining dedicated to safety and quality.
