A crew led by Superintendent Larry Graham found themselves in the middle of a sugar cane field during harvest in the bayous of south Louisiana. In a rare bagasse storage cell project, COMANCO laid 60-mil smooth liner in the containment cell, installed 40-mil smooth geomembrane in the return ditch, and introduced a few pipe boots to complete the job. Sugar cane, past the quintessential use in coffee, is utilized for paper products, food additives, and can even be burned for clean steam-engine power. This cell will be where processed sugar cane pulp rests until science conceives even more uses!
