FPPC Spring Conference Brings Industry Leaders Together in Boca Grande
The FPPC Spring Conference once again brought together leaders from Florida’s phosphate industry in beautiful Boca Grande, Florida. COMANCO proudly attended the annual event alongside industry professionals, business partners, and community advocates committed to supporting the future of phosphate operations throughout the state.
Representing COMANCO at the FPPC Spring Conference were Mark and Christine Topp, Dan and Brooke McRae, and Thomas and Loreyn Raab during the three-day conference hosted at the historic Gasparilla Inn & Club on Gasparilla Island.
FPPC Spring Conference Celebrates Industry History
Gasparilla Island holds a unique connection to Florida’s phosphate industry. Home to Port Boca Grande and its historic automatic phosphate transloader built in 1911, the area played a major role in phosphate shipping operations for decades.
The FPPC Spring Conference provided attendees an opportunity to reflect on the industry’s history while discussing future opportunities and challenges facing Florida phosphate operations.
Industry Networking and Educational Opportunities
Throughout the FPPC Spring Conference, attendees heard presentations from industry professionals and Florida-based experts who shared insights related to mining, agriculture, infrastructure, and economic development.
In addition to educational sessions, the conference featured several social events designed to strengthen relationships among attendees. Game Night, Bingo, the Ice Cream Social, and Casino Night all helped foster camaraderie within the phosphate industry community.
