COMANCO Enhances Sustainable Irrigation with Water Reclamation Pond
COMANCO recently wrapped up earthwork for a Rapid Infiltration Basin (RIB) System in Central Florida. This project, completed in early September, strengthens local infrastructure by supporting sustainable water management and protecting valuable community resources.
Understanding Rapid Infiltration Basins
RIB systems are designed to recharge groundwater and manage stormwater. They work by allowing treated water to naturally filter through layers of soil, which helps replenish the aquifer and maintain water quality. These systems are an essential part of sustainable wastewater and stormwater management.
Shaping the Basin with Precision
Under the leadership of Foreman Chad Kendall, with support from Leadman David Boone, COMANCO crews performed the earthwork that shaped and graded the basins. Precision earthwork provides the foundation for reliable and long-lasting performance. Transphos Inc., a trusted subcontractor, imported approximately 2,700 CY of sand, equaling 3,645 tons, for this project.
