Brownfield Remediation in South Florida: COMANCO Constructs Methane Gas Management System in Dania Beach.
COMANCO’s Brownfield Remediation efforts are critical to sustainable land redevelopment in South Florida. One of our latest projects has been constructing a passive Methane Gas Management System (MGMS) for a building in Dania Beach, FL. This building is roughly 172,000 SF, or about 4 acres in size, and lies close to the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood airport. Foreman Miguel Medrano and crew have completed liner deployment and header/outlet pipe installation and are waiting to return to the site to complete the riser installation.
Methane Gas Management Systems require various high-quality materials we procure from our trusted vendors. To complete the liner portion of this project, COMANCO installed 220,320 SF of 60 mil HPDE smooth liner provided by SKAPS. For the pipe system, Harrington provided 940 linear feet of 6″ SCH80 PVC pipe for the header pipe and risers and close to 400 linear feet of 4″ SCH80 PVC pipe for the outlet pipes. Additionally, CETCO provided 7,260 linear feet of Geovent.
COMANCO is continuously pioneering excellence in Geosynthetic Gas and Vapor systems. For more information about our innovative environmental solutions, explore our services, view past projects, or contact us today for a free quote.
