COMANCO Returns to Phosphate Containment Facility to Complete Liner Installation
COMANCO returns to a Phosphate containment facility in Mississippi to complete a liner installation. Due to their durable and sustainable qualities, clients in the phosphate industry use our geosynthetic systems for many projects, often for containment. For example, COMANCO is lining a water-runoff storage pond at this site. The materials used for this pond will create an impenetrable barrier to prevent unwanted water and materials from entering the surrounding environment. COMANCO will utilize this project’s 2,000,000 SF of AGRU’s 40mil HDPE Single-sided and Double-sided liner.
The crew will install an additional 500,000 SF of Engineered ClosureTurf® and 500,000 SF of Engineered Synthetic Turf as an alternative closure method. This type of system eliminates the need for abundant soil cover and sod once a liner system is installed. Once installed, minimal maintenance is required compared to traditional closures – most notably, eliminating the need to mow up to hundreds of acres of grass!
