Headway made on Landfill in Naples, FL, to create a New Geosynthetic Lined Cell.
COMANCO is making headway in establishing a new geosynthetic lined cell for a landfill in Naples, FL. Ensuring the trash waste is properly contained and chemicals don’t seep into the surrounding ground. Currently, one-third of the first two layers have been installed.
Superintendent Carlos Garcia and his team have faced challenges during the project, such as rain-causing washouts on the liner. However, they have overcome these challenges by maintaining strong communication with our on-site earthwork crew.
What makes this project unique for COMANCO is tying three out of four sides of the new cell’s geosynthetics to existing cells’ geosynthetics. The materials used for this project are 191,733 SF of Geosynthetic Clay Liner and 191,733 SF of Geosynthetic Membrane. As well as 137,988 SF of Geocomposite.
Once completed, this project will provide a new cell for the landfill to place waste in, protecting the surrounding environment from harmful chemicals.
