Nevada Reservoir Inspection Repairs Completed on 90-Acre Water Reservoir

COMANCO recently completed Nevada Reservoir Inspection Repairs on a 90-acre water reservoir in Northern Nevada. Led by Superintendent Carlos Garcia, the crew successfully inspected and repaired a large-scale water management system lined with 60mil HDPE geomembrane liner designed for long-term water containment and environmental protection.

Water reservoirs like this play a critical role in flood control, irrigation, water conservation, hydroelectric support, and industrial water storage. Proper maintenance and routine inspections help ensure these systems continue operating safely and efficiently for years to come.

Nevada Reservoir Inspection Repairs Required Detailed Liner Evaluation

As part of the Nevada Reservoir Inspection Repairs project, COMANCO crews inspected approximately 3.9 million square feet of HDPE liner throughout the reservoir system.

The inspection process included:

  • Evaluating overall liner integrity
  • Identifying leaks and damaged areas
  • Inspecting submerged pipes and valves
  • Locating potential wear points
  • Performing geomembrane repair work
  • Documenting maintenance findings for future monitoring

Routine liner inspections are essential for preventing water loss, reducing environmental risks, and extending the lifespan of containment systems. By identifying issues early, owners can avoid larger and more expensive repairs in the future.

Harsh Winter Conditions Added Challenges to the Project

The Nevada Reservoir Inspection Repairs project presented difficult working conditions for the COMANCO crew. Northern Nevada weather brought freezing temperatures, snowfall, and icy conditions throughout much of the repair process.

Temperatures dropped as low as 15 degrees during portions of the work, requiring additional safety planning and specialized cold-weather PPE for the crew. Despite the challenging environment, the team continued progressing safely while maintaining COMANCO’s commitment to Safety, Quality, and Service.

Working in extreme conditions requires strong communication, proper preparation, and experienced field leadership. Superintendent Carlos Garcia and the crew demonstrated all three throughout the project.

Reservoir Inspections Help Extend System Performance

Large reservoir systems require ongoing inspection and maintenance to remain effective over time. Exposure to weather, UV rays, changing water levels, and environmental conditions can create stress on geomembrane liners and containment structures.

COMANCO’s Nevada Reservoir Inspection Repairs help ensure that these critical water management systems continue functioning properly while protecting surrounding environments and infrastructure.

COMANCO provides reservoir inspections, geomembrane liner repairs, leak detection, and environmental containment services for clients throughout the United States.
