COMANCO Checks Up on Idaho Fishing Pond

Last summer COMANCO Environmental installed a lining system for a fishing and recreational pond in Pocatello, Idaho. The 8 acre pond consisted of 60-mil Textured High Density polyethylene (HDPE), 8-ounce Non-Woven Geotextile and 200-mil (8-ounce) DS Geocomposite.  The channel feeding the pond was also lined with 60-mil Textured HDPE and was then covered with river rock to give a natural look.  More than a dozen channel flaps were installed periodically through the small creek in order to create deeper pools of water where the transplanted trout and salmon can spawn.

The fishing pond will be a part of a great community facility that will include 11 multi-use sports fields, a championship sized sports field, basketball courts, and volleyball pits. The facility will also include a mountain bike park, children’s playground, 10,000 person amphitheater, and running paths.

COMANCO recently stopped by the site to check on the progress of the site. Despite the facility still being under construction, and the pond not being completely filled, the pond has already been stocked with local fish and is looking great!
