COMANCO began working on the Gas Collection and Control System for Phase III of the North Central Class I Landfill in Polk County, Florida at the beginning of March.
The project is broken out into two phases (North Cell and South Cell), and both phases will entail (but are not limited to):
– Installation of a gas header and collector system totaling to approximately 30,000 LF of HDPE pipe
– Drilling of approximately 2,400 VF of 36” diameter wells
– Installation of a complete Blower/Flare Station with an Air Compressor
The flare system is anticipated to be completed by early Summer, and the project has an anticipated completion date of August/September 2012. The team will be led by Billy Wilson as Superintendent, David Barnett as Project Manager, and Nick Bridges as Project Engineer.
Jones Edmunds and Associates and SCS Engineers are the Engineers for this project, and the project is owned by Waste Resource Management of Polk County.
