COMANCO Invests in Leadership Development

Four COMANCO leaders recently attended the Breslin Leadership Circle in October. Fleet Supervisor Anthony Cole, Project Manager Elizabeth Surface, Superintendent Jose Manuel Mendez, and Employee Development Coordinator Shujwana Lamy represented COMANCO at this impactful program.

The Breslin Leadership Circle focuses on strengthening leadership, communication, and team development skills. Participants gained valuable insights into building trust, enhancing accountability, and fostering a culture of engagement across all levels of the organization. The interactive sessions encouraged open discussion, self-reflection, and hands-on exercises that addressed real-world job site challenges and team dynamics.

This year’s Leadership Circle was one to remember, with Mark Breslin noting it was the coldest night of all Breslin Leadership Circle events. Despite the chilly conditions, our team rose to the challenge. Jose Mendez voluntarily hiked up the second mountain with eight other participants, achieving the fastest hike time recorded among all previous classes. In recognition of their perseverance and dedication, Jose and Shujwana were honored with the Grit Award for LC11.

Our leaders returned equipped with new tools and strategies to support their crews, drive performance, and uphold COMANCO’s core values of Safety, Quality, and Service. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Breslin team for delivering another motivating session that continues to shape COMANCO’s next generation of strong, effective leaders.
