COMANCO Completes Repair & Modification Work in Hernando County

by

Last week, COMANCO performed two jobs at the Northwest Waste Management Facility in Hernando County, Florida.  The first task was to repair damaged HDPE geomembrane liners.  The crew, led by Superintendent Jorge Barrantes, performed a 9’ x 16’ patch on the primary and secondary liners.  A vacuum test to verify the repairs was then completed as part of COMANCO’s Quality Control/Assurance Program.

The second task performed was a Sump modification to a 50’ x 50’ area at an existing cell.  The sump pumps at this location were not getting sufficient water flow so COMANCO was asked to remove the existing 3’ layer of cover sand and replace it with 3’ of river gravel.  This was then encapsulated with an 8 oz/sy geotextile fabric & thin rain tarp cover.  Both jobs were completed under budget and ahead of schedule.  Great job team!
