Coal Ash Landfill – Central Florida

COMANCO is currently working on the installation of a multi-layer geosynthetics system in a coal ash runoff pond in Central Florida. The project includes two cells of approx. 4.5 acres each. Each cell is made up of a four layer system consisting of a layer of 80mil textured HDPE liner, a layer of geonet and double-sided composite, another layer of 80mil textured HDPE liner, and a final layer of single sided composite and double sided composite. The entire system is then covered with a protective cover layer and a layer of soil cement. The crew is working tirelessly to complete the 36 acres of geosynthetic installation and protective cover, yet they are not sacrificing safety or quality. The project is being run by Site Superintendents Bill Newman and Juan Gomez, and Project Manager Dan McRae.
