Liner Deployment Kicks Off for New Landfill Cell in NE Florida

A 12-man COMANCO crew, led by Superintendent Martin Calderon, began the deployment of over 450,000 SF of 60-mil textured geomembrane and geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) for a brand new landfill cell in Northeast Florida. The 11-acre landfill cell is Phase 1 of the new 156-acre Disaster Recovery Debris Management and Recycling facility. Along with liner installation, the crew will be installing double-sided geocomposite, dual containment leachate piping, river gravel, and a stormwater control flap.
