COMANCO is using a CAT D5K with AccuGrade System at Sun Country Landfill. The AccuGrade System is designed and integrated into the machine and hydraulic system to create an automated blade control system that allows operators to grade with increased accuracy. The system uses machine-mounted sensors to calculate precise blade slope and elevation information.
Nathan Wilfong, COMANCO Foreman for Sun Country Landfill stated “I think this new D5 with Grade Control is a great machine! It is very balanced and has a lot of power for a small dozer. Although the grade control will not take the place of GPS, it helps to keep the operator on grade between great grade stakes or along side of a GPS equipped dozer.”
