COMANCO Continues Work at Landfill in Polk County, FL

COMANCO is full steam ahead working landfill maintenance in Polk County, FL.  The crew led by Superintendent Nathan Wilfong and Foreman Jorge Gomez have been working since Hurricane Irma to repair and improve conditions around the site.  Mother Nature can provide quite a challenge sometimes, but there is nothing a COMANCO crew can’t handle.  They have been working various tasks such as rain tarp and geomembrane repairs and stormwater system repairs around the site.  Most recently, the crew has started work to remove all remaining temporary geomembrane and ballast on a temporary closure, and re-grade approx 17 acres with an additional foot of cover soil before hydroseeding the slope.  The work presents plenty of challenges with gas piping across the whole area, but the crew is making excellent progress while maintaining safe work practices.
