Project Superintendent Charlie Ingle is leading a crew this week on building a pipe trench in order to drain a frequently flooded parking lot near a building at a local Florida chemical plant. The crew removed the asphalt from the trench area using a saw, located the buried utilites, and started removing sections of the trench using picks, shovels, and a chipping hammer. The crew is now working on fusing 8″ HDPE pipe to place inside the trench. Water will then be able to flow from the inlet structure through the pipe into a nearby ditch on the other side of the building.
